ABOUT THE ROLE

SALES RESPONSIBILITY

  • Sell strategic, customized marketing programs to retail technology companies, agencies, and solution providers who serve the Consumer Goods industry. Assets in portfolio include a mixture of print & digital marketing products, event sponsorships, custom media, and some research.
  • Leverage a consultative sales approach, with custom programs designed to meet clients’ needs
  • Create annual and monthly projections
  • Make personal sales calls at clients’ and prospects’ offices
  • Travel to industry and corporate trade shows to meet with clients and prospects
  • Create annual proposals for clients and prospects
  • Call clients and prospects to close business daily
  • Meet or exceed budget

INDUSTRY LEADERSHIP

  • To function as an industry leader, including:
  • Being a company ambassador at all relevant industry events
  • In-person integrated media sales calls with other team members
  • Visits with retailers and manufacturers to understand community needs

OTHER

  • Travel 30%+
  • Demonstrate passion and interest in industry issues and challenges
  • Support team (Brand Director, Editorial Team, Leadership Team) as needed to provide voice of customer feedback and insights
  • Represent membership opportunities among client base and bring in subject matter experts as needed

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of relevant sales experience. Consumer Goods Industry knowledge is a plus
  • Exceptional track record for exceeding sales targets and managing complex and demanding client relationships
  • A demonstrable track record for strategic, consultative selling with cross-platform experience
  • Sales management experience in managing pipelines, building prospects, and motivating cross functional team members highly desired

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Collaborative sales person, with a desire to inspire and be inspired by a talented team
  • Creative and strategic thinker, with strong interpersonal skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to sell immediate and long-term programs
  • Highly organized and able to thrive in a high volume, fast-paced and team-oriented environment
  • Must have creative, compelling and persuasive presentation skills, including the ability to modify and use Power Point presentations and Excel spreadsheets
  • Candidate able to exhibit upwardly mobile career, and capability to handle the next opportunity for growth
  • Comfortable with using on-line CRM program. Salesforce experience a plus.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
